Royal TS is a remote connection management tool for Windows. Instead of launching a separate client for every machine, you store all sessions in a document and open them as tabs inside a single window. Connections live in a folder tree, and settings defined on a folder are inherited by everything below it, so shared options like gateways, display settings or credentials only need to be maintained in one place.

The supported session types cover most of what a Windows or mixed environment needs: remote desktop over RDP, terminal sessions over SSH and Telnet, screen sharing through VNC, embedded web pages, and file transfer over FTP, SFTP and SCP. Beyond plain connections it can also open management views for Windows events, services, processes and terminal sessions, run PowerShell scripts against a target, and hook into TeamViewer, VMware and Hyper-V.

Credentials are handled as separate objects that connections reference by name rather than storing passwords inline. Documents are encrypted and can be password protected, and because a connection only points at a credential name, a team can share the same connection document while each member resolves the names against their own credentials. Documents can be synchronised across a team without running a SQL database, and the app can pull credentials from KeePass or LastPass. Companion clients exist for macOS, iOS and Android.

It suits system administrators, support staff and anyone maintaining more than a handful of servers. If you only connect to one or two machines, the built-in Windows Remote Desktop client or a plain SSH terminal will do the job with far less setup, and the free mode caps you at ten connections anyway.
