Geekbench 6 is a benchmarking utility that measures single-core and multi-core CPU performance along with GPU compute performance. Instead of synthetic math loops, its tests are modeled on everyday workloads such as image processing, machine learning inference, PDF rendering, and encryption, aiming to reflect how a device behaves in real applications rather than just raw theoretical throughput.
After a run, the tool produces a numeric score plus a detailed breakdown by workload, and can upload results to Primate Labs' online database where they can be compared against other submitted hardware configurations. This makes it useful for checking whether a system is performing as expected, comparing upgrade options, or evaluating devices before a purchase.
The free version covers personal use across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. A separate Pro license adds command-line automation, a standalone offline mode, local results management, and a commercial-use license, aimed at reviewers, IT departments, and businesses that need to run benchmarks at scale or outside a browser-tied workflow.
It is a good fit for anyone who wants a quick, comparable read on a machine's processing performance; it is not a full system-monitoring or stress-testing suite, and users who need sustained thermal/stability testing should pair it with dedicated stress-test tools.
