Adobe Acrobat Pro is desktop and online PDF software from Adobe. It lets users create, edit, and organize PDF files, including editing text and images directly in a document, merging or splitting files, and reordering or rotating pages.
The software converts between PDF and other formats, exporting to Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, or turning image files like PNG and JPG into PDFs and back. Built-in OCR recognizes text in scanned documents so it can be searched, selected, or edited. Reviewers can annotate with comments and markup tools, add watermarks, and fill in or create fillable forms.
For document sign-off, Acrobat Pro includes e-signature collection with signer validation and timestamps, along with password protection and permission controls to restrict who can open, print, or edit a file. It integrates with Microsoft Office and cloud storage services, and is available as a desktop application, web app, and mobile app.
Acrobat Pro is the higher tier of Adobe's Acrobat lineup, sitting above the free Acrobat Reader (view-only, with some basic annotation) and the Acrobat Standard plan, which offers fewer editing and OCR capabilities.
