Wondershare PDFelement Pro is a general purpose PDF application for Windows desktops. Rather than treating a PDF as a fixed image, it lets you click into existing text and edit words, fonts and images in place, reflow paragraphs, and rearrange the document by splitting, merging, rotating, compressing or deleting pages. Reading and markup tools sit alongside the editing tools, so highlighting, underlining and commenting on a document you received works in the same window as authoring one.

The feature set beyond editing covers most of what an office PDF workflow needs. Conversion moves files between PDF and Word, Excel, PowerPoint and common image formats. Optical character recognition turns scanned paper into selectable, searchable text across a broad set of languages. Form handling goes both ways: you can build fillable forms and pull submitted data back out in bulk. For documents that need controlling, there is password encryption, permanent redaction of sensitive passages, and digital signature support. Recent releases add AI assisted functions layered on top, including document summarisation, chat style questions about a file's contents, translation and grammar checking.

The Pro edition is the fuller of the two desktop tiers, and it is the one worth considering if you regularly do OCR, batch processing or form data extraction; the Standard edition drops several of those. It suits administrative, legal and finance roles where PDFs arrive constantly and need to be changed, signed or turned back into editable documents.

It is a poorer fit if you only open a PDF occasionally. The software is commercial, and the free download is an evaluation build that stamps watermarks on anything you save and caps conversion, OCR and file combining to a handful of pages or files, so it cannot be used for real work unpaid. Anyone who just needs to read, annotate or sign the odd document will be better served by a free reader or by the vendor's separate browser based tools. Note also that the AI features send document content to a remote service, which may matter for confidential material.
