Revo Registry Cleaner examines the Windows registry for entries that no longer point at anything useful: references to uninstalled programs, dead file associations, orphaned shared libraries, stale startup items and similar leftovers. Results are sorted into categories so you can review what the scan flagged before anything is deleted, rather than accepting a single verdict on the whole registry.
Safety handling is the part worth paying attention to. The program can take a full registry backup before it deletes anything, and it separately stores every entry it removes so an individual change can be undone later. That matters with this class of tool, because a registry cleaner that guesses wrong on a key can leave an application or a Windows component unable to start.
The free edition covers scanning and removal. The paid Pro edition adds the deeper functionality: additional scan depth modes and categories, a registry tuner with prewritten Windows tweaks, a watcher that reports registry changes as they happen, custom include and exclude lists, scanning of multiple user accounts, and scheduled unattended cleaning.
It suits people who install and remove a lot of software and want a reviewable, reversible way to tidy the traces left behind, particularly existing Revo Uninstaller users. It is not a performance fix: on a modern Windows install, clearing dead registry keys rarely produces a speed difference you can measure. If you are looking for a faster machine rather than a tidier registry, this is the wrong category of tool, and anyone uncomfortable with reviewing registry keys should leave the defaults alone.
