Adobe Acrobat Reader (64-bit)

Adobe Acrobat Reader is the desktop client for opening and working with PDF files. Beyond basic viewing and printing, it lets users search within documents, add sticky notes and text comments, highlight or underline passages, and draw freehand markup directly on a page. A built-in Fill & Sign tool detects fillable form fields in a PDF and walks the user through completing them, and also supports applying a typed or drawn signature to a document.

The reader is aimed at anyone who regularly receives or needs to review PDF documents rather than create them: office workers reviewing contracts, students reading course materials, or anyone filling out a government or business form. It integrates with Adobe's cloud storage so files opened or signed can be synced across devices, and it can connect to companion Adobe services for scanning or converting documents, though those extra services are separate offerings from the reader itself.

Acrobat Reader does not include tools for editing existing text in a PDF, rearranging or merging pages, or converting a PDF to formats like Word or Excel. Those capabilities belong to Adobe's separate Acrobat Pro subscription, and the reader periodically prompts users to upgrade for that functionality. Some Fill & Sign actions, such as requesting a signature from another person, are also capped in the free reader before requiring a subscription to a separate Adobe service.
